Carol Stewart
Gallery 982 features this month Carol Stewart, a former Ford model. Carol began her art academically at the National Academy of Design and continued her study at CUNY Hunter. She was also a Thomas Smith scholar at Hunter College’s Baccalaureate program. She majored in fine art, under Professor and artist Robert Swain as a mentor. Ms. Stewart’s “Bull” earned her an award by the National Academy of Design School of Fine Arts.

Ms. Obrant has been producing fine art for over 30 years. Beginning her commercial career while a student at Parsons School of Design, she quickly established an enviable reputation as a superlative draftsman, garnering several prestigious honors. In expanding her repertoire to fine art, Ms. Obrant’s self-education began with an extensive examination of the works and visions of the masters of western and eastern art. Applying her skills as a painter to the fiber arts, Ms. Obrant produces unique crochet couture for private collectors and selected boutiques. (Obrant)
